Introduction to 15th Administration -Message from Chairman of JVCA-

Since its launch in November 2002, Japan Venture Capital Association (JVCA) has exerted every effort to fulfill its initial objectives of strengthening reciprocal collaboration among venture capitals and roles to cultivate venture capital ecosystem. With the 14th administration which was formed with Ex-Chairman Ozaki’s vision in mind, all directors and members had worked together and resulted several consistent achievements including reconfiguration of JVCA Vision, Mission and Value, implementation of activities of three committees (Venture Ecosystem Committee, Fund Ecosystem Committee, Open Innovation Committee), and acquisition of new members.

With the 15th administration, JVCA is accelerating its activities by strengthening the board of directors and involving top venture capitalists so as to contribute to the world economy through development and enhancement of startup ecosystem as well as creation of new industries from Japan,

Amidst fear of stagnant world economic growth, venture capital as an industry is now expected to contribute to the society by creating new industries and employment opportunities through innovation. Also it is expected to contribute to the asset management industry as an alternative asset class with potential to create higher financial return.

JVCA will build strong foundation with a goal of encouraging new startup creation and Japan-to-Global industry creation through cooperation among members and VC syndications. Please look forward to JVCA and its activities.
